Our Hospice Members

WESLEY ended up at a high kill LA County shelter after his previous Owners turned him, in stating they did not want an imperfect dog any more. They said his back left paw was a birth defect, but after our Vet looked at it Wesley had actually sustained an injury which had severed three of his four toes.  With this trauma his personality probably moved towards being more aggressive and anxious, especially with large breed dogs.  He uses his remaining toe as his own personal “kick stand”.  Wesley is around 3 years old and weighs 5.5-lbs.  He has very silky soft medium hair and looks exactly like a miniature Border Collie.  Wesley is very playful and loves soft toys and likes having another dog with whom to play.  Wesley is not keen on his feline cousins and will bark at them if they invade his space.  Overall, he has somewhat a nervous disposition so needs an experienced dog-lover who can manage his “little dog syndrome” in a home that is calm . He cannot be around small children and does not do well in public.  Wesley is living in a foster home with another small-breed dog and a cat.  He bonds very strongly and will give undying loyalty and love to the person who can overlook his bad paw. Could that be you?
